Re: The World (League) According to Neo

WORLD LEAGUE REACHES CRUCIAL TV DEALS

CHARLEY STEINER (Above, left): "Within the past 36 hours, we've seen the World League of American Football shock the sports world at large with the Los Angeles Avengers' acquisition of embattled Raiders running back Marcus Allen. Today, the USA Network outbid ESPN, MTV and Turner Broadcasting for the rights to televise World League games on cable in primetime. USA's coverage will mainly consist of Saturday night or Monday night games, along with games from Europe on Saturday afternoons. How about Sunday afternoons? We have just learned that the Sunday rights have just been acquired by the upstart Fox network. Fox stepped up after NBC chose instead to bid for the NBA, which they got, starting next year. CBS and ABC also passed on the World League, with both having jockeyed for the MLB and NHL contracts respectively."

Re: The World (League) According to Neo

NeoPrankster, this may be my first time responding to one of your concepts in this community at least, but this alternate history of the WLAF sounds super promising and interesting! I can’t decide between Paris or Mexico City as my favorite team as both have unique looks. Can’t wait to see what you have in store!

You are going to LOVE this!

BTW, My vote goes to Portland as the second '92 expansion team...something about it gives it the most "world city" feel of the candidates.

Re: The World (League) According to Neo

As a Pacific Northwest resident i want Portland to come in next year, a suggestion for a name is Otters (they are native to the state of Oregon) Btw, Paris and San Antonio are my favorite teams for now

Re: The World (League) According to Neo

My eagerness grows more and more...I am ready for kickoff!

In case you're wondering, my favorite team is the Paris Phantoms...if any team should overlook them, a disaster beyond their imagination will occur.
