The eleventh franchise to be granted was the Amsterdam Admirals. The team is owned by H. Wayne Huizenga, the 52 year old Florida businessman who as of 1990 owns Blockbuster Video. The Admirals plan to play their home games at Amsterdam's Olympic Stadium. In case of scheduling conflicts, De Meer Stadion, home to soccer club Ajax, will serve as a backup venue.
The 12th and final team to be unveiled for 1991 is Los Angeles.
