Alright! Ottawa is back in the playoffs! I'm pleasantly surprised by how they are doing considering how great players like Jean Matteau don't always make great coaches (Not that I am saying that the Royals shouldn't have hired him in the first place or anything, even if it wasn't like Wayne Gretzky coached the NHL's Coyotes into the next Stanley Cup winning dynasty or anything, but rather I am saying that Matteau looks like he could buck that trend in sports).

Anyway, let's keep it up Royals!

Ah, a new hockey league, huh? This actually sounds pretty promising so far! I guess I’ll root for the Buffalo Colts for now (mainly because purple is my favorite color), unless they end up folding or relocating in the future.

Anyway, I am super excited to see where this new league goes! Best of luck to you!

It's so exciting to see the NAAF expand again! I was thinking Kansas City was the safest bet to join Minneapolis too. As for the other leagues, I had a funny feeling that Hamilton wouldn't be able to support an ACFL team (it would be too cold up there to play American football late in the ACFL's calendar unless they were to play in a dome or something), so I, like Rugrat, am glad that Van Fossen got the boot as commissioner, as this means that tensions between the NAAF and ACFL should ease for now at least (Although the situation in the GLFL could be something to keep an eye on in the future).

Also, whenever Ryan Jameson retires as commissioner of the NAAF, who would choose his replacement?

While Brooklyn may have a losing record, I admittedly am hoping they can pull off a 1990-91 Minnesota North Stars in the playoffs, as they just seem like a good underdog story.

Also, with the NERC having a new commissioner, I wonder if once the league has its image cleaned up after this gambling scandal, if there will be expansion? Maybe even beyond the New York Metropolitan area? Not that I am saying that you should, but I was just saying, especially since when all the suspended teams return, there would be an odd number of teams.

D'oh! Sorry about that! My brain must have farted when I asked that, LOL.

Whoa, I had no idea Toronto would be at the .500 mark at this point in the season! Also, with Indiana continuing to be Indiana, what are the chances they go through some sort of mid season coaching change? Not that I am blaming Jimmy Sargent for their struggles at all, but it almost feels as if he's a retread at this point (Like in the NFL, Hank Stram when he coached the Saints, Tom Flores when he coached the Seahawks, George Seifert when he coached the Panthers, etc).

Anyway, here's hoping Ottawa can get back on track soon after dropping two straight, although Boston is probably going to be tough test.

DireBear, this may be my first time posting in this topic, but I have been quietly been following it from the very beginning, and I am actually quite impressed with your fictional league! My favorite team so far would have to be the Fort McLeod Generals, as just happen to really like their logo. Although I'm also really liking the Owls' updated uniforms.

Also, are basketball and hockey popular in Escalia at all? Not that I am suggesting you do basketball and hockey leagues on top of the EFL at all, but I was just wondering. Keep up the good work!

Maybe Detroit?

The problem with Detroit is that they already have a GLFL team. Maybe Toledo, Ohio would make a good candidate for expansion? Since it's close enough to Detroit and is in a state where the NAAF has no presence currently? But then again, Toledo could still be GLFL territory, not to mention they may not even have a big enough stadium currently for NAAF standards. Just my two cents.

Wow! I may be a Royals fan, but I must give Halifax credit where it's due for finally winning a game given the struggles they went through in their last few years as the Athletics. Incorporating TV announcers is actually pretty clever too! Although are games still being televised on CBC in Canada and CBS in the United States out of curiosity?

For New Orleans, I would go with Steamers as a name. Jesters would probably be too close to the ill fated SFL team in terms of branding, as well as Mardi Gras related names are kind of cliche anyway, and while Hurricanes could work, they would probably have to change their name come Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

For Kansas City, as good of a name as Coyotes would be, my vote goes to Shockers as it would have to be the most unique name of the bunch, not to mention that Wranglers would probably encroach on the Roughriders' branding (I could be wrong though).

For Portland, I'll have to go with Stags. Pioneers is a good name, but as Wallflower mentioned, Seattle already has a human mascot. Plus, I bet an antler design on their helmets would look cool.
