Alternate History Sports / Your inspiration

So, I was wondering what prompted you to start/ invent your league, world, or sport?

Myself, I was inspired to begin my CPHL (Canadian Premiere Hockey League) by Hawkfan's Professional Hockey League on the CCSFF boards and the idea of only using Canadian cities or towns. So far its been easy, but hey. Let's have it, my friends! What was your inspiration?!

One project I’m thinking of doing as a graphic design stepping stone before my *real* project involves a fictional California county’s high school football season. It’s mainly inspired by local high schools and cities in OC, as well as some cities I drove past during a road trip to Santa Cruz this spring. I’m working on a county map, and if you want, I’ll post it here when it’s done.
