Re: The AltFL Season 2025

We nearly lost to a team without a starting quarterback, but our players in the late window allowed us to to crawl our way to victory and to improve to 3-1. After going through the gauntlet of teams that was the South Division, we finally open divisional play against the Minnesota Voyageurs. They haven't had the best start to the year, but did manage their lone win convincingly against the Steelheads, so they aren't to be taken lightly. It's an interesting featured player for this week, as we're featuring K Chase McLaughlin, who went 3/3 on field goals and 2/2 on extra points, including hitting the second-longest ever field goal at 65 yards (though he would have gotten the same amount of points if he kicked from 50 yards out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

Fresh off a dominant win in the desert that evened our record at 2-2, the Destroyers head back to Oceanside Stadium with some much-needed momentum. The challenge doesn't let up, however, as the Portland Grizzlies are rolling into town after putting Utah away with ease last week, and they'll be looking to do the same to us. We'll be rocking the navy helmets, navy jerseys, and grey pants, a sharp look for what should be a hard-hitting divisional showdown. We'll be once again counting on the performance of one of the standouts in last week's win, DB Jalen Thompson, who seemed to be everywhere on defence in last week's win, registering nine total tackles in the Arizona sun, five of them solo.

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

So last week we lost to the Reapers. Which sucked. We didn't want to do that. But you know what our punishment for losing to Carolina is? A trip to Salt Lake City! So... let's go to Utah and play the Raptors. We'll be in the yellow helmet, white jerseys, and black pants for this one, and feature defensive back Nick Cross! #LiveFromNewYork

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

The Destroyers are on a roll, getting above .500 for the first time since 2023 after a solid win against Portland last week. This week, we’re heading to KC to take on those spooky bois who also have a record of 3-2 on the season. We’ll be rocking our navy helmets, white jerseys, and navy pants. We’re counting on our third-year wide receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who was on fire last week with 132 receiving yards and a touchdown, to keep up the good work on offence and help us keep this winning streak going. #WaveOfDestruction

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

With multiple starters out on both teams, the Steelheads-Reapers game was a bit sloppy, but we came out on top and are back over .500. Next up is our third game in a row against an East Division opponent, and our second straight on the road, as we head up the East Coast to the borough of Manhattan. The Emperors have historically had our number, but we'll look to flip the script on them this weekend. We had some standout performances from our offense this past week, but LB Nick Bolton seemed determined to keep our graphics defense-exclusive. If he can post a performance that's anything like the 12 total tackles, pass deflection, and forced fumble he achieved against Carolina, we'll be in pretty good shape. #GoDeep

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

We bounced back from our loss to the Reapers with a big win over the Utah Raptors on the road. Now YOUR New York Emperors head back home and welcome the Seattle Steelheads to the Polo Grounds for Bronx Zoo Night, and we'll be in the penguin suits for Bronx Zoo Night, as usual! Like the Steelheads, we're also going to be featuring a linebacker, rookie Teddye Buchanan, who had 15 tackles last week (which is more tackles than Steelheads featured player Nick Bolton had last week). #LiveFromNewYork

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

We dominated the Voyageurs at home, and now have to go on a little west coast swing before we can play more of our division. We open against the Portland Grizzlies, who have had a rough start of the year but could turn it around with a win against us. Featured for us this week is RB David Montgomery, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown while also completing a pass for a 3 yards and a score. We'll be wearing red/white/red for the first leg of our west coast journey.

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

As has often been the case, the Steelheads hung with the Emperors, but could not come away with the win. In particular, the defense had a rough time stopping New York's vaunted offense, meaning that for the first time since all the way back in week 1, we'll be spotlighting an offensive player. That player is WR DK Metcalf, who had a stellar game against his former team, racking up 95 yards and a TD. We return to Seattle after a quick two games away, but the schedule doesn't get any easier from here, as we'll be hosting the Cyclones. Chicago has been very hot as of late, and has moved into the #1 spot in the league, so this should be a good one. #GoDeep

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

As we have done throughout the year, we pulled away late after starting out in a close game against the Grizzlies, and suddenly we find ourselves in the coveted top spot in the league. I don't know how we got here but now there's target on our back to get the top spot. It also doesn't help that the Central has been closer than it usually has been, so we need a win to stay ahead. We head up north to Seattle in our second leg of our west coast swing against the Steelheads, who have fallen back down to the .500 mark after a hot start to the year. We'll be featuring rookie WR Tetairoa McMillan, who caught his first two touchdowns as a pro last week, and be in the same away duds as last week against Portland.

Re: The AltFL Season 2025

That one stung. Those spooky bois in Kansas City got us good, and the loss drops us back to 3-3 and part of a wild four-way tie atop the West. The division’s anyone’s game right now, and we’ve got a chance to make a move as we return home to face the other Missouri squad, the 4-2 St. Louis Explorers. We’ll be breaking out the alternates this week, navy helmets with grey jerseys and pants, as we look to get right back in the win column. One guy who’s been a steady force all year is LB Lavonte David, who put together another strong performance in KC with a sack and six tackles, four of them solo. #WaveOf Destruction
